Yoga is a living science and has been evolving for thousands of years according to the needs of humanity.


One of the key figures in more recent history who brought yoga to the West is Swami Sivananda. He had trained as a doctor before devoting himself to a spiritual path and so was able to combine medical authority with yogic teachings, explaining even the most complex of philosophical subjects in simple and accessible language.


After traveling and lecturing extensively in the West he closely observed the lifestyles and needs of the people there. This inspired him to synthesise the ancient wisdom of yoga into five basic principles which can be easily incorporated into western lives.

Yelena completed 200hrs Yoga Teacher training on the Island of Koh Samui, Thailand in 2015 and has since then been working toward creating a lifestyle that supports yoga as a foundation to her every day activities.

She is a keen advocate of the benefits of practicing yoga holistically, and wishes to dispel any misunderstandings generally held by those not familiar with, or against, the teachings of yoga and its potential when applied to modern living.
